iA)how to make a big round white pinata

‘Things necessary

1) Newspaper For children's piñatas, 43 double-page spreads. 57 sheets for adults 2)

37 sheets of A4 quality white paper

3) Flour paste: quantity unknown

4) Brushes for the number of people who will be pasting

5) Cellophane tape

6) A vessel in which each person puts glue. For the number of people to do the pasting work

7) About 4 large containers to hold the undiluted glue

8) Balloons to put inside: number of production + spare

9) Pump to inflate the balloon

10) rubber band (to tie the mouth of the balloon)

11) A large plate to prevent the piñata from rolling (preferably with a diameter of 40 cm or more) As many as the number of piñatas

‘Place
1) Microwave

2) If you want to boil in hot water, use a gas stove or a pot

3) Work table A dining table will suffice. A table that can be wiped off quickly even if it gets glue is good

4) Workbench floor (preferably a water-resistant floor because it will get dirty with glue)

‘where to dry the piñata

A large sheet to lay down when drying

Where it can be hung If you place it on the ground, it will be deformed by the weight, so you can distribute the weight by hanging it from the ceiling.

string for hanging

‘@‘Rough how to make it.‘@‘

Required time Preparation: 20 minutes. Main work: 50 minutes. Drying: 1 week or more.

Wrap the unclogged newspaper around the inflated balloon.

use a paste made from wheat flour

Cover with 5 layers of newspaper and 1 layer of white fine paper on top, for a total of 6 layers.

Make a hole at least 10cm in size to put a present in the top.

Make the area around the large hole considerably thicker because strength is required when hanging with a rope.

Once dry, drill a hole around the hole so that it can be hung.

‘flour paste

I think that you will make a lot of flour paste in advance and make it during the work.

There is no data on how much to make, but the distribution is as follows.

Darkness
2 tablespoons + 300ml water

Dilute with water before using the stock solution.

If you heat for 4 minutes in the microwave, heat while watching the situation (2 minutes + 1 minute + 1 minute...).

If possible, the second and subsequent heating should be done in 40 second increments.

For example: 2 minutes + 40 seconds + 40 seconds + 40 seconds = 4 minutes

In any case, stir each time

‘@‘@Detailed procedure (preliminary preparation)@‘@‘@

‘@Required time Preparation: 20 minutes. Main work: 50 minutes. Drying: 1 week or more.

‘@Preparation

1) How to make glue.

heaped tablespoons of flour (40g) for 300cc of water (*)

Dissolve it well in coldwater until there are no lumps. warm it up.

It's good to boil it in hot water, but if it's troublesome, you can finish it in the microwave. (However, it will harden unevenly, so you need to mix it quite often.)

Make at least 3 donburi bowls. (*)

2) Cut the newspaper into large strips.
The size is the width of a quarter of the long side of the spread (20 cm) and the length is the width of the short side of the newspaper spread (55 cm).

3) Inflate the balloon (70cm size)
Tie the mouth with a rubber band (deflate it once and then inflate it again)
How to tie: Twist, bend, and tie the two bundles made by bending with a rubber band.

Note) We do not have data on the exact amount of glue yet. Amounts indicated with (*) are approximate.

‘@‘@Detailed procedure (main work)@‘@‘
‘Preparation

1) It is more efficient to put it on a table and work standing around it.

2) Prepare a plate on which to place the piñata, a work container with glue, a brush, and newspaper on the table.

3) It is better to divide the work between the person in charge of pasting the newspaper and the person in charge of making glue.

‘real work
1) Stick newspaper without glue with cellophane tape like wrapping a balloon.
However, make sure that the tape does not stick to the balloon. (tape the newspapers together)
Always apply the newspaper layer by layer.

2) Make sure the balloon is completely wrapped in dry newspaper.

3) Place a piece of newspaper on the table and apply glue on it with a brush.

4) As the second layer, stick the adhesive side of the newspaper to the balloon side. Stick a large strip of newspaper around it Be careful not to overlap too much in one place.

5) When the whole is wrapped, the second layer is finished.

6) From the second layer onwards, stick the balloon around the opening with a diameter of about ten centimeters. (Actually, there are many layers around the opening to increase the strength, so even if the opening is blocked, it will be folded back, so you don't have to worry about it too much.)

7) Odd layers use colored newspaper if possible. By doing so, the layers can be determined accurately.

8) Repeat steps (3) to (6) for the third layer.

9) Repeat steps (3) to (5) for the fourth and fifth layers. Reinforcement of the opening raises the center of gravity, so it is better to put that part on the lower side or to reinforce the area around the entrance at the end.

10) Paste white high-quality paper on the sixth layer.

11) Dry thoroughly.
Immediately after making, it contains a lot of water and is soft, so it is easy to crush. Therefore, instead of just placing it on the ground, you can tie a string to the mouth of the balloon and hang it from the ceiling to prevent it from collapsing.

12) Deflate the balloon as needed to make it easier to dry inside. However, since there is a risk of deformation, it is better to dry it to some extent.

13) Allow to dry until completely dry.

14) After drying, check if the strength is sufficient. If it is not enough, add additional reinforcement.

15) Drill a minimum of four holes with a diameter of at least 1 cm around the opening.

16) Paint or decorate as desired. However, in the case of watercolor paint, consider the number of days the paint will dry.
